Osteopath

Hi, I'm Jack, an Osteopath at Align Healthcare Clinic.

Osteopathy has been an integral part of my life, and my journey in this field was inspired by a remarkable personal experience. My mother suffered from severe L4-5 prolapsed disks from her early twenties. When doctors gave her limited options, including surgery or a life of chronic pain, she turned to Osteopathy. This decision was life-changing, allowing her to continue working, caring for her children, and nurturing our family. Witnessing this transformation in her quality of life ignited my passion to pursue a career in healthcare, with the aim of improving the lives of individuals like my mother.

In my approach to treatment, I often employ a method known as "above and below." I focus on altering the biomechanics of areas that influence the site of pain. For example, when dealing with knee pain, I tend to look beyond the symptoms and target potential dysfunctions in the hips and ankles. My goal is to address the root causes to effectively eliminate the issue, rather than merely providing temporary relief. Having experienced various types of pain during my journey as a rock climber, I firmly believe that a combination of customized exercises and precise, controlled treatments is the way to a pain-free life and a future filled with mobility and strength.

My fitness journey has evolved over time, transitioning from weightlifting, which I found to be restrictive and monotonous in my earlier years. I've embraced a more functional lifestyle that encompasses a diverse range of fitness activities, including cycling, swimming, and my main passion, climbing. Research has shown that even among the world's top athletes, engaging in a variety of physical exercises is a strong indicator of overall performance. This revelation amazes me and reinforces my belief in the benefits of embracing a well-rounded fitness regimen.
