Available types of massage
Depending on the problem or preference of the patient, different types of massage therapies can be used. The most popular choices are below:
Neck, Shoulder & Back Massage - 30 mins - £29
(Returning patients only) The massage will predominantly focus on the three main upper areas of the body. The therapist will work on releasing any tension which is being held to relax the muscles in this area. If you are a new patient, please choose a 1 hour massage as it will give us enough time to conduct a thorough medical history before treatment.
Deep Tissue Massage - 1 hour - £45
During a deep tissue massage, your massage therapist will use slow strokes and deep pressure to relieve tension from the deepest layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This often involves full body massage, and the therapist will focus on any particular areas which are bothering you.
Swedish Massage - 1 hour - £45
This form of massage is relaxing and gentle, making it perfect for a first timer. The massage therapist uses a combination of circular movements, long strokes and kneading to relax superficial muscles of your body. This is good to relieve stress, relax the body and to make you feel rejuvenated when you leave!
Sports Massage - 1 hour - £45
Sports massage uses a variety of pressure (often deeper, more intense and focused than in conventional massage) to speed up an athlete's recovery time, help with muscle soreness and injury prevention. This type of massage is particularly useful for runners, athletes, sports players and regular gym attendees.
Cupping Massage - 1 hour - £45
Suction from cupping draws fluid into the treated area. This suction force expands and breaks open tiny blood vessels (capillaries) under your skin. Your body replenishes the cupped areas with blood flow and is reported to stimulate muscular healing. You may have seen footballers, boxers and athletes with circular marks on their back and shoulders - this is the after affect from a cupping massage!
What to expect
During the massage, your therapist will apply various techniques to help alleviate soreness, tightness, or pain in your muscles and joints and use varying pressures (depending on your preference). Providing you’re happy to do so, you will be asked to remove clothing down to your underwear lying on a comfortable massage table covered by a towel.
The therapist will go through a full medical history first, answering any questions or concerns you may have. They will then get right to work, using most of the time for treatment. After your session, they will provide advice, hints and tips to help you manage any ongoing issues. Still unsure? Give us a call! 0151 203 2884, we would be happy to answer any questions.
